Medicare Conference Attendee Information – 2021 Summit

Medicare-conference-attendeeThe following information will help make your experience at the 2021 conference as excellent as possible.  We have just over 800 registrants.  We look forward to seeing you in Schaumburg.

COVID UPDATE:  We are following State of Illinois and local regulations, as are (of course) both the Schaumburg Renaissance and the Schaumburg Convention Center.  Wearing masks is now required in Illinois.

WE HAVE ADDED SPACE:  We have just over 800 registered for the conference.  Plus, we expect good (added) attendance for the agent free day.  Last week we enlarged the Exhibit Hall space by 50% … and placed meals and receptions in larger rooms.  We know all our attendees will respect the concerns of all attendees.  Thank you.

LATEST PROGRAM WITH ROOM CHANGES:  You’ll get a great printed program when you check-in.  You may also wish to print out the latest schedule which reflects some of the room changes.  Click this link to access.

Now here is info to help answer questions we often get from attendees:

GETTING TO THE SCHAUMBURG RENAISSANCE – CONVENTION CENTER:  If you are flying, you can access special taxi information (click Conference Travel information).  If you are driving, there is free parking.

REGISTRATION DESK: When you arrive, please pick up your conference Name Badge and printed program.  The Registration Desk will be located just outside of the Schaumburg Ballroom.  It opens Wednesday (Sept 8) just after 9 AM.  Name badges must be worn at all times – especially for meal and reception access.

DRESS:  We call this a ‘business casual’ meeting, but honestly come in whatever makes you comfortable.  Speakers often will wear more formal clothing for their sessions.  Hotel ballrooms are difficult to cool/heat.  We always advise bringing a sweater or light jacket to avoid being chilly.

ONLINE PROGRAM:  You can access a simplified conference schedule at www.medicaresupp.org/chi

TRANSPORTATION FROM OTHER HOTELS:  IF the hotels being used for ‘overflow’ conference registrants (Embassy Suites, Doubletree and Hyatt) will offer shuttles to the Convention Center they will be limited.  We suggest asking when you check-in and signing up as early as possible.

SPECIAL ROUNDTABLES ON WEDNESDAY:  This year, the conference will kick off with Roundtables on Wednesday afternoon.  Claims – Underwriting – Regulatory – Actuarial.  These sessions are open to all conference attendees who have interest in hearing what industry leaders think about / have to say.

A FEW FINAL TIPS:

  1.  Bring lots of business cards.  A lot of networking takes place.  Also, many of the sponsors and exhibitors will be conducting prize drawings at their booth.
