Medicare Supplement insurance sales are expected to grow over the next five years according to national industry experts.
“The Medicare Supplement insurance market continues to grow and the next five years will see some unprecedented increases,” predicts Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI). Slome points to a prediction that by 2018 some 13.9 million policies are expected to be in force according to a report from CSG Actuarial.
“Over 60 million Americans will be eligible for Medicare in 2018,” says AAMSI’s Slome. “That number grows to 68 million by 2022 making the Medicare Supplement Insurance market one destined to see continued growth in the years ahead.”
To assist consumers seeking information from knowledgeable Medicare Supplement insurance agents, the Association recently launched the nation’s largest online directory when consumers can find local Medigap agents.
“Our role is helping consumers get the information they need to make a decision,” Slome adds. “Some consumers merely want to speak with an expert over the phone but others still want that old face-to-face meeting. Whatever they prefer, the Association’s website can help them get the information and access to professionals.”
Access to the Association’s Find A Medicare Supplement insurance agent is free and no-sign-in information is required. “Most other websites exist to gather your information so they can sell it to others,” Slome admits. “Consumers don’t enter any information and they can see information on agents and decide who they wish to contact without any cost or obligation.”
Established in 1998 and headquartered in Los Angeles, the Association was established to support the needs of insurance professionals who market Medicare Supplement insurance products and to organize the industry’s annual educational conference. Slome also serves as director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance and the National Advisory Center for Short-Term Care Information.
